Tour highlights:

The tour is an interesting combination of Cambodia’s on the move present with a recent tragic history and a stunning past of Angkor Kingdom. In between is an exploration of country life on Mekong and Tonle Sap. It shows some of the very best Cambodia has to offer.

Itinerary:

Day 1: PHNOM PENH ARRIVAL

Upon arrival at Phnom Penh Int’s Airport, process immigration procedure (visa on arrival is available or obtain in advance via www.evisa.gov.kh). An Aiitours host will meet and take you to hotel.
Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 2: PHNOM PENH PAST AND PRESENT

After breakfast, we hop on a Cyclo, an original means of transport from Phnom Penh and a fun way to explore this vibrant city. Visit Wat Phnom, the Royal Palace, National Museum, the distinctive red building with a beautiful Khmer architecture housing more than 5000 art objects made of sandstone, bronze, silver, copper, wood and others. Proceed to Independence Monument, and then Toul Sleng Genocide Museum (also known as S21), ironically a former school, located in a quiet Phnom Penh suburb, this was the infamous Khmer Rouge prison / torture center. Shop at Central Market followed by a cruise for view sunset on the Mekong and Tonle Sap River (1 hour).
Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 3: PHNOM PENH TO SIEMREAP – TONLE SAP

After breakfast, transfer to Siemreap. Check into your hotel.
In the afternoon we take a boat ride on the Tonle Sap Lake to see a fishermen’s “floating village” with homes, shops, schools, police station, afloat from place to place following water levels and current.
Dinner with Apsara Dance show at local restaurant.
Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 4: ANGKOR TEMPLE HIGHLIGHTS

Today drive to Angkor Thom – the masterpiece of King Jayavarman VII we visit Bayon Temple. We explore Baphuon Temple, once of the most beautiful temples at Angkor, dating from the reign of Uditayavarman 1 in the 11th century, Terrace of the Leper King, Terrace of Elephants, originally used as a viewing gallery for the king to preside over parades, performances and traditional sports.
Continue to Ta Prohm `Tomb Raider` fame and the mother of all temples, Angkor Wat – said to be the world’s largest religious building, this temple is the perfect fusion of symbolism and symmetry and a source of pride and strength to all Khmers.
Enjoy one hour foot massage and a short walking tour at busy pub streets where you can stop for cool drinks or shopping at Angkor Night Market.
Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 5: DEPART SIEMREAP

Bid farewell to Siemreap. Your journey ends with a transfer to Siemreap Aiport for your onward flight.

Our tour guide will be holding a welcome board waiting for you at the airport exit. Once all are out and ready, he will take you to the bus. In the event you do not see the guide, please call our hot line number or the on-duty person’s phone number which has been noted before each tour.
Yes, this tour can run 365 days a year, spring, summer, autumn and winter. Cambodia is quite warm all year round, with two distinct seasons, dry (hot) and monsoon (cool). Cool season: December-February Temperature from 21 to 32 °C (70 to 90 °F). Hot season: March-June April is usually the hottest month of the year, when temperatures start to climb to 40 °C (104 °F). Rainy season (hot and cool): June-September, October-November. Temperature from 23 °C to 30 °C. November to February is the best time to visit Cambodia, specifically December and January.

It’s approximately 7-8 hours in total per day. The longest ride is 5 hours.

Temperatures vary depending on the season, so we recommend that you wear light clothing and pack a jacket in case of falling temperatures in the winter. We do not recommend wearing shorts or sleeveless shirts on days visiting pagodas. We trust you can make your own judgement in season. For footwear, we recommend comfortable walking shoes.

Yes and no. If you are a Southeast Asian citizen, you are visa exempted. Others must require a visa to Cambodia. Prepare in advance a passport photo and 30$US cash with you. Your visa will be granted right upon your arrival at Phnom Penh Airport.

Before traveling to Cambodia, be sure to purchase insurance for your trip. Two months before you leave, you should also consult your doctor or local travel clinic for the latest information on health risks in Cambodia and to receive any vaccinations you may need.
Pregnant women should consult their doctors for specialized advice. Anti-malarial drugs and many diarrhea treatments are not completely safe during pregnancy.

If you have a medical condition or allergy of which requires particular attention, carry a doctor’s letter with you that describes the nature of the condition and treatment needed. We also recommend you pack a medical kit with:

• DEET-based insect repellent
• Paracetamol or ibuprofen for pain relief
• Anti-itch ointment, such as hydrocortisone
• Sunscreen
• Antihistamine for allergy treatment, such as zyrtec, Benadryl
• Bacitracin for wound care, such as Neosporin
• Diarrhea treatment, such as Imodium
Some medications may be difficult to find in Cambodia: be sure you travel with a full supply of any prescribed medicine you need.
